Let those creative juices flow – The Creative Grant Cycle for Apogaea 2014: Emergence is officially open! The Board of Directors has awarded a whopping $50,000(!!!) for creative grants this year! That’s right, we said FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!
Apogaea creative grants fund all types of powerful and unique art including: The 2014 Effigy, The 2014 Temple, installations, sculptures, theme/sound camps, performance art, workshops, mutant vehicles, and other amazing art by awarding grants ranging from $50 to over $5,000. Start organizing your ideas and getting that budget together so Apogaea can help make your project happen!

What’s new about Apogaea creative grants for 2014?
There have been a lot of changes to Apogaea Art Grants this year. Be sure to re-familiarize yourself with what we do and do not fund, along with the new grant rounds and deadlines. Moar grant monies!
The Apogaea Board of Directors voted to grant $50,000.00 to art in 2014! That is 32.4% of the previous year’s ticket revenue! Holy crap, that’s awesome!
Higher grant amounts / Milestone payments
These two things go hand in hand. If your grant is over $1,500.00, you will be paid in multiple payments as pre-determined project milestones are successfully completed. We are also opening a special, high dollar grant round in October to help get those big projects started sooner. Start thinking big and get those creative juices flowing!
New Names and Start Dates for Rounds
We’ve updated the names of our grant rounds to something more descriptive. Two new rounds were added this year: The Ludicrous Money Round designed for grants requesting more than $3,000.00. We’ve also moved up the start dates for the high dollar grant rounds so we can get money into the artist’s hands quicker!
Food items are now eligible for grant funds
Great news – food and non-alcoholic beverages are now eligible for grants! Any food grant is subject to the grantee complying with (and being able to demonstrate compliance with) all applicable state and local laws.
Cross-pollination grants
Have some bad ass art, but can’t bring it to Apogaea because it would cost a fortune to get it there? The new Cross-pollination Round is a grant that’s available to any pre-existing art and will fund any amount below $600.00 to offset travel expenses such as vehicle/trailer rental and fuel. We want Colorado to see your kick ass art!
Changes to the lists of funded/not funded items

Effigy and Temple grant requirements have been updated
If you are applying for a grant to bring the Effigy or Temple, your grant comes with additional requirements and obligations.
