Apogaea 2026 — Mythos & Mechanica

Leave No Trace

For Open Camping & Theme Camps

Clean Camps Build a Better Apogaea

Apogaea only happens because we collectively protect this land. Let’s leave the ranch cleaner, safer, and more beautiful than we found it.

Burn culture is built on Leave No Trace — one of our most important principles. Our impact today determines our future.

What Is MOOP?

Matter Out of Place

If it didn’t grow there… it’s MOOP.

  • Cigarette butts
  • Zip ties
  • Wood chips
  • Feathers & sequins
  • Glitter (the enemy)
  • Bottle caps
  • Tent stake caps
  • Fake flowers
  • Food scraps
  • Plastic bits
  • Faux fur
  • Broken LEDs
  • Tiny sparkle goblin debris

Don’t be that camp.
Pack it in, pack it out, pack it all.

Open Camping

You Are Your Own LNT Lead
  • Walk your site slowly in a grid pattern
  • Pick up all visible MOOP
  • Check under rugs, tarps & vehicles
  • Remove all stakes/rebar
  • Shake costumes & blankets before packing
  • Pack out all trash & recycling
  • Sweep one final time with “fresh eyes”

Rule of Thumb If you see MOOP — even if it’s not yours — pick it up.

Theme Camps

Your MOOP Matters

This year, Apogaea will be creating a MOOP Map. Camp cleanup results and MOOP impact may influence:

  • Future placement preferences
  • Camp standing
  • Placement priority consideration for future years

  • Assign a dedicated LNT/MOOP Lead
  • Conduct daily MOOP sweeps
  • Secure décor for wind events
  • Provide butt cans & trash stations
  • Educate campers & visitors
  • Perform final line sweeps
  • Leave camp cleaner than arrival condition

Our Community • Our Land • Our Future

Micro-Moop Is the Final Boss

The smallest debris creates the biggest problems.

  • Lag bolts
  • Rebar
  • Wood splinters
  • Plastic shards
  • Twist ties
  • Faux fur fibers
  • Tiny hardware
  • Cardboard scraps

If you drop it… pick up three more.

We Map It. We Learn. We Do Better.

Apogaea will be mapping MOOP after the event to track cleanup outcomes across the city. The MOOP Map helps us recognize outstanding camps, identify areas for improvement, and guide future placement decisions.

MOOP Map Color Key

Green — Excellent! Keep it up! Yellow — Room to improve Orange — MOOP Detected Red — High MOOP Impact
