[Update: 2016 Ticket Prices Announced]
The Apogaea board had previously suggested an idea for discussion that would have made ticket prices the same across all tiers of the organization. After soliciting and receiving community feedback, we have decided that the idea, despite having its strong points, was not truly workable or in the best interests of the Apogaea community or organization. After much discussion, we now have a revised ticketing plan that we think will work better for everyone.
Here are the basics of the new ticket structure:
- Tickets will have various pricing levels as in previous years.
- Full-Price tickets will be priced at or near the ticket prices from last year.
- Scholarships and youth tickets will still be available at a discount.
- Granted artists will receive guaranteed tickets.
- Theme camps will have the ability to apply for a small pool of guaranteed tickets.
- Anyone who purchased an Apogaea 2015 ticket will get a “thank you” coupon for a discounted ticket this year.
Although we know that we cannot please everyone all the time, we feel this is a much improved balance, which rewards participation while still maintaining integrity and keeping the event more in touch with Burning Man’s Ten Principles.
