Announcing Ladder – the Ticket Exchange Program

Apogaea would like to Officially Announce that we now have a Ticket Exchange Program, called Ladder. It opens on March 21st about 1pm – after General Admission Round 2 sales are completed. This project has been in development for the last 2 years. This is our first year so we are really excited. If this project is successful, we want to open it up to other burner communities to use. It’s our gift back to you.

Ladder is like STEP, except that it was created specifically for the Apogaea community by the Apogaea community. Ladder was created with one concept in mind… to match people with tickets to people needing tickets. It facilitates face value exchanges of tickets on a first-come-first-serve basis.

This is what Piper (the mind behind the idea) said today about Ladder:

“Every year there is a list that shows up on the Facebook group where people put their name and number down in hopes of getting a ticket. It always seemed chaotic and inefficient so I started thinking up ways that it could be done better. Burning Man’s STEP had come out at about the same time and I thought that the name Ladder was a clever homage. ”

How Ladder Works: It works by maintaining an ordered list of people who need tickets. When a ticket-holder comes to the site with a ticket that needs a new home, they get to choose from a short list of people at the front of the line. Ticket-holders who don’t want to choose can just opt for the first person in line. Once the recipient confirms they still need a ticket, both ticket-holder and recipient are given each other’s contact information. From this point, it’s up to ticket-holder and recipient to conduct the transfer of the ticket.
