Watch for speed traps the whole way, they know you’re coming. Have a great journey and we’ll see you at Apogaea – Alchemy!

Tickets and Entry

If you are over 12 years of age, your name needs to be on the “Attendee List” that was created when you bought your ticket through Brown Paper Tickets. If you are 12 or under you can get in with your parents. Note that the customer service people at Brown Paper Tickets sometimes give out the wrong information. Your name MUST be linked to your ticket through Brown Paper Tickets and your government issued ID must match that name or you will not be allowed in the gate!

Have a ticket but not sure if your name is on the list or need to change a name?
Instructions are in the Tickets FAQ

Remember, the paper ticket doesn’t get you in, your name and government issued photo ID have to match the list, like a guest list. Also, your art ticket is waiting for you at the gate, along with a fancy wristband!

Since you will all be carpooling, note that everyone in your vehicle needs to have a ticket and be on the list. If anyone in your vehicle does not have a ticket but is intending to get in you will all be sent home. Also, if anyone is caught sneaking into the event and they came with you, you’re all kicked out.  Apo Security Squad (ASS) is watching.

Your vehicle will be searched. We’re looking for people without tickets and nasty moopy stuff like feather boas. These searches will be by gate volunteers, not police or authorities.

Things to bring to the gate:
Signed Waiver
ID – Government issued (drivers license, passport)

Early Entry

Tuesday early entry will be regulated. If you are registered in the volunteer database for a shift ON ANY DAY or you are an Ignition member you will be granted Tuesday early entry. Preregistered theme camps will be allowed to give four individuals early entry.

The gate closes 1 hour earlier than last year!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Fire Performers

All Fire performers must register with Fire Convergence and take the Uniform Fire Use Guidelines safety workshop hosted daily at 5pm at the Fire Convergence Camp, which will be near the effigy (subject to change). Register and attend the workshop at this location daily.

Food Drive

Apogaea will be conducting a non-perishable food drive at the event this year. We are soliciting donations of canned food (on the way in) or extra food (on the way out) for donation to a Bailey area food bank. We believe this would be a very effective way for Apogaea and its community to give back to the local area that has allowed us to hold our event for many years. As we attempt to grow the event, the goodwill of the community will be an increasingly important factor.

For Volunteers

Pick up your hard-earned appreciation gifts at the Info booth Thursday through Sunday from 11am – 2pm.

Save the date for the volunteer appreciation party on Sunday, June 30th from 1pm – 5pm.

Ice Sales

Ice is $2 per bag and is sold under the shade of Center Camp daily from 9am – 9pm. Please bring singles ($1 bills baby) for ice purchases – no change will be given! Profits from ice sales go to local Bailey charities.

Leave No Trace

Remember, Apogaea is a Leave No Trace event! We need your help to make sure the land is clean when we are gone. Make sure you reduce any MOOP (Matter Out Of Place) before you go out and most importantly be prepared to pack out everything you pack in, that includes taking out your trash.

The Burning Man website has a lot of great information on their website, check it out at
http://www.burningman.com/environment/resources/lnt.html

Parking

Upon arrival to Apogaea, vehicles will be allowed to unload gear at your camp (remember to stay on the road!!!). After you’ve unloaded, vehicles must be taken to the indicated parking area by one person in your group (cuz you all carpooled). A shuttle will be transporting people from the parking area this year. Please limit the amount of people and gear on the shuttle.

PLACEMENT – Theme Camps, RV Parking & Registered Vehicles

The policy has changed from 2012:

Theme camps may have up to 2 vehicles on their land where the vehicle is necessary to the camps event operations (not merely a parking space for a passenger vehicle). We would like to park vehicles used for hauling your camps stuff in and out in a designated parking area.

RV’s and other vehicles used for sleeping are not limited as long as they are placed on your camps land.

Placement will be giving out parking passes for theme camp infrastructure vehicles and other vehicles being used for sleeping. (RV’s will not be issued passes.) Pick these up from placement when you arrive. Look for the Happy Landings sign after the gate.

<<<<>>>>

RV’s, trailers and others sleeping in vehicles – Thank you to those who were able to register your vehicle it really helps us to plan. If you did not register, your vehicle is still welcome and we will do our best to place you though registered vehicles will have priority for level ground. ~Happy Landings Crew
