Finally. . . the interstellar transmission our rebel forces have all been waiting for. . .
As many know, Apogaea has explored new locations to grow the event in the years ahead. We love the Happy Ass Ranch and we’re very appreciative of Skip’s gracious hospitality for many good times there. Over the last few years, our intergalactic survey crews have inspected several habitable worlds as potential sites for our gathering. Finally we found one that meets our extraordinary life support requirements. Better yet, we believe it will take Apogaea to the next dimension.
Thanks to the lovely Liese Lemay for introducing us to our new location. Our journey was long and complicated, involving many encounters along the way with the sheriff of the kingdom and his many fire captains. Over the emerald river & through the enchanted woods, we found ourselves atop a scenic mountain crest, which we call Fhloston, peeking above the forest. So beautifully idyllic and magical is this location that one of our Board members, Guywire, claims he got lucky with one of the woodland creatures there. We still don’t know whether it was with a green faerie or a unicorn, but we’re very happy for him.
More details you might like to know about our new world. . .
Coordinates: a few miles South of Bailey, CO, about an hour SW of Denver, not much further from Colorado Springs
Elevation: about 8000 feet, with significantly more oxygen than the atmospheric composition of Happy Ass
Terrain: Significantly more level open ground than Happy Ass, many flat sites to easily accommodate all theme camps & fluctuations in the gravity field
Ecosystem: Similar to Happy Ass Ranch, lightly treed montane ecosystem, bordered by dense national forest
Fhloston Peak has never hosted lifeforms like us before. We know that for a fact… because we’re building a transgalactic interchange (actually an improved dirt road, almost a mile long) to our location on top of an old jeep track. This public works project will be completed by late April or early May to meet the requirements of emergency services access, and the work is being conducted in coordination with the sheriff and local fire officials.
Our new location will involve changes in logistics and require many volunteer rock stars, especially in the roles of DPW, Placement and Parking.
