Performance
What is Performance Art?
Performance Art is instrumental music, spoken word, theater, or any other form of live performance. You may either hold your performance in your own camp, befriend a theme camp with a workable space, or sign up to use the space at Center Camp, which will have a covered dome with lighting and power. We can also include your performance in the WhoWhatWhereWhen, the complete guide to what’s happening at Apogaea.
Do I need to pre-register my Performance Art?
Yes! If you’d like to arrange for space at Center Camp, you need to pre-register. If you’d like to be included in the WhoWhatWhereWhen, the complete guide to what’s happening at Apogaea, you need to pre-register.
Fire Performers – Please note the following:
Fire Performers do not need to pre-register unless they intend to schedule a formal performance.
However, all Fire Performers must check-in with the Fire Performance lead and have their fire props inspected and approved for use at the event. The Fire Performance lead will advise of safe zones for fire play as well as the general fire ban status.
Scheduled performances and spontaneous fire play are encouraged, when there is no fire ban, under the following guidelines.
- All Fire Toys being used at the event must be approved by Fire Performance lead.
- All Fire Performers must have a designated Safety with a visible safety towel; 1 Safety per 3 fire performers.
- No ground fires are allowed; please use a spin-off bucket for excess fuel.
All fire must be extinguished at the request of any Ranger or Safety Personnel. If you fail to comply with fire guidelines or verbal instructions from the Fire Performance lead, Rangers or Safety Personnel, you will not be allowed to light up for the duration of the event.
Deadline for pre-registration is midnight on April 30th.
Supplemental material not supported by the on-line application must be postmarked no later than April 30th.
