Arriving at the event
Gate hours
EARLY ENTRY*, Wednesday, June 6th: Noon – 9pm
Thursday, June 7th: 11 am – 9 pm
Friday, June 8th: 9 am – 9 pm
Saturday, June 9th: 9 am – 6 pm
*If you arrive outside the operational hours for the gate, you will be turned away. Please prepare accordingly and arrive when the gate is open.
Early entry
Early entry is available to all volunteers signed-up in the Volunter Database (http://volunteer.apogaea.com/) and members of Ignition. If you are going to Apo with your significant other, friends, etc., all must be approved for early entry – i.e.: if your wife has early entry and you don’t, then you don’t get early entry just because your wife does.
The Gate
Be prepared before your arrival at the gate:
- Have your ticket and government issued photo ID.
- Have enough food, water and equipment to survive the event.
- Have a signed liability waiver.
Other considerations:
- Your vehicle will be searched.
- Follow the direction of the gate volunteers and move your vehicle when directed.
- Working gate is a thankless task. Be nice to your gate personnel and they will be nice to you. A cold, tasty beverage goes a long way.
- Drive slow for safety and to keep down dust.
- If you need to leave and return DUE TO EMERGENCY, check with the gate when leaving to arrange for your reentry.
Greeters
Greeting is an important part of the Apogaea experience. All participants must be properly greeted by the Greeters. You will be given a quiz regarding the contents of the Survival Guide by the Greeters. Greeting is where the fun begins! Contact email hidden; JavaScript is required for more information.
Parking
- All vehicles must park in designated areas.
- There is limited parking space. Carpooling is highly recommended.
- You will be given a temporary parking pass that allows you a short amount of time to unpack your vehicle at your camping site. After your pass expires, you will need to move your car.
- Participants who leave and return by personal vehicle will be charged a $40 fee.
- Trailers and “pop-up” campers under 20’ in length may be placed in general camping areas or your theme camp.
- Theme camps get 2 vehicles per camp, whether they are RV’s, trucks, or other vehicles.
- RVs and car-campers need to register in advance.
- The entire vehicle policy including vehicles in theme camps, RVs, car-campers, trailers, and mutant vehicles is located on http://apogaea.com
