Apogaea

Colorado's Regional Burn

Michael ‘Luki-Pa’a’ Blank

Luki Pa'aTitle: Territorial Ambassador – Fort Collins

Luki Pa’a was a name given to Michael by a Hawaiian mystic, it roughly translates to “The Boy With Deep Eyes”…. He attended his first Burning Man in 2009, which was yet another life-changing experience, much like when he first attended Apogaea in 2005. The catharsis and release he experienced watching the Buddha burn that first year struck deep, and has been back every year ever since. First creating Time Shock Therapy Camp in 2006, the crew grew ever larger and they morphed into The Universital Bongalow in 2007, then the Hidden Garden of Groove in 2008. Now he is content to participate in other ways – through photography, volunteering and giving northern colorado the best T&A they have ever seen.

“I use light as both my canvas and my brush, and have been particularly interested in bright, wild portraiture which captures the color and beauty of life on the fringe. I have been photographing counterculture events and sharing my art with the community for many years, and will continue to bring my unique perspective to the experiment of capturing a moment in time.”
